Meet Ken Britton, Founder

I’m a Vancouver-based technology leader and consultant who makes complex systems feel clear, grounded, and workable.

Before founding Tall Tree Technology, I was Director of Engineering at Shopify and VP of Software Development at Hootsuite. Over two decades, I’ve worked across architecture, reliability, developer experience, and organizational scale.

Today, I work directly with owners and senior leaders on consequential technical and AI decisions. I bring the judgment large technology companies keep in-house, without requiring clients to hire a full-time technology executive.

Work beyond Tall Tree

I’m an AI readiness assessor for COAST’s Blue AI program, supporting sustainable ocean-based businesses in British Columbia.

I also contribute to public-interest open source, including the Community Health Toolkit, a registered digital public good used in community health care, the Government of Canada Design System, and Electricity Maps.
